To train and provide individuals with an understanding of the intent
of the bloodborne pathogens regulation issued by the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); how Bloodborne pathogens
are spread; how to help prevent exposure incidents by following work
practice controls, using engineering controls and personal
protective equipment, practicing good personal hygiene and properly
cleaning and disinfecting equipment and supplies; and to recognize,
report and follow up on employee exposures to infectious materials.
Scrubby Bear—Personal HygieneThe
purpose of Scrubby Bear—Personal Hygiene is to teach children ages 4
to 7 years old how germs are spread, how to prevent the spread of
disease and to properly wash their hands.
Basic Aid Training (BAT)Introduce
children to safety information and first aid procedures for
breathing difficulties, bleeding, poisoning, burns, shock and other
emergencies.
First Aid for Children Today (FACT)Help
children ages five to eight understand the important role they have
in managing their own health and safety as well as the health of the
environment in which they live.
First Aid To
teach lay responders the knowledge and skills necessary to give care
in an emergency, help sustain life and minimize the consequences of
injury or sudden illness until medical help arrives.
CPR-Adult
Train lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency
situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening
respiratory or cardiac emergencies in adults.
CPR-Child and Infant
Train lay responders to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency
situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening
respiratory or cardiac emergencies in infants and children.
AED-Adult
To teach lay responders the skills and knowledge needed to provide
care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest through the safe use of an
automated external defibrillator (AED).
AED-Child
To teach lay responders the knowledge and skills necessary to use an
automated external defibrillator (AED) with pediatric AED pads on
child victims between the ages of 1 and 8 or less than 55 pounds.
Epinephrine Auto-Injector Module
To teach lay responders the skills and knowledge necessary to
recognize and provide care to a person experiencing a breathing
emergency until advanced medical personnel arrives and takes over.
This module includes the demonstration of an epinephrine
auto-injector.
Asthma Inhaler Lesson
To teach lay responders the skills and knowledge necessary to
recognize and provide care to a person experiencing an asthma attack
until advanced medical personnel arrives and takes over. This module
includes the demonstration of a bronchodilator.
Lay
Responder First Aid and CPR/AED Instructor
To train instructor candidates to teach basic-level American Red
Cross First Aid, CPR and AED courses for lay responders. Participant
must be at least 17 years of age and possess
an

Administering Emergency Oxygen
To give participants the knowledge and skills necessary to provide
care to a victim of a breathing emergency using breathing devices,
including resuscitation masks, bag-valve-mask resuscitators (BVMs)
and emergency oxygen.
Oxygen Administration for the Professional Rescuer
To give individuals the knowledge and skills necessary to provide
care to a victim of a breathing emergency using breathing devices
including suction devices, oral and nasal airways, resuscitation
masks, bag-valve mask
resuscitators, and supplemental oxygen. Participant must possess
a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training
and First Aid certificate; and possess
a current American Red Cross CPR for the
Professional Rescuer (ECC 2000) certificate.
